Kobus Wiese played his first test for the Springboks on the 26th of June 1993 against France (drew 20-20). He won his last cap for the Springboks on the 15th of December 1996 against Wales (won 37-20).
Kobus played in the South African provincial Curry Cup for the Golden Lions, which is the former team for Transvaal. Wiese shot to stardom while playing for the World Cup winning Springboks in 1995. His brilliant play at the time was due to the vast amount of experience he gained while playing for Boland, Western Transvaal and Gauteng.
As part of the Springboks, he toured to Australia, New Zealand, Wales, Scotland, Ireland, Italy, England and many more countries between 1993 and 1995. In addition to his Rugby experience and well-known sports persona, Kobus is a sought after speaker. He uniquely uses his experience on the field to demonstrate how motivation and team spirit are essential aspects to any kind of success.
Today he is the owner of chain cafes and CEO of a coffee roasting factory in Johannesburg. He is also a consultant and TV presenter.
